



This weekend I tried Henny´s recipe of a Styria, Austria: a pumkinseedoil-cake. I agree with Henny the bubbly greenish looking dough doesn´t look very inviting, but when it´s baked it looks alright and the taste is really extraordinary .

The bottle left shows the oil which was used for the cake, which made the dough really tasty and fluffy as well.
When I came back from nordic walking this afternoon I had to realize half of the cake had already gone, my son and his father had a good afternoon....

Als ich heute am späten nachmittag wiederkam vom Nordic Walking musste ich feststellen, dass die Hälfte des Kuchens schon in den Bäuchen meiner Männer verschwunden war.
Und hier noch ein Bild , das eine Reihe der Pflanzungen mit Kiwis zeigt.
This Saturday we went to an open air exihibition for the rural products of the Brandenburg area. They had a show- and experimental garden there, looked after and kept by pensioners who used to work in LPGs ( the socialistic type of farming organisations??) of the Ex-German Democratic-Republic. They carry out the work freely and their only support is from big nurseries whose products are planted in the huge area in Paaren.
Since about six years they testing for the swiss firm Häberli, if a special kind of Kiwi could be cultivated here in the north-eastern part of Germany on sandy soil and cold winters. And by the looks of it there were successful, the Kiwi Actinidia arguta produces small but very aromatic fruits, is self-fertile and ideal for small gardens in our area.
