In front of this church the market took place.
The market seemed to be more like a medieval one than a christmas market.

I started some more advent preparations, but as I have no time within the week it ended up in buying this paper-star in a Origami shop in Berlin. I love Origami since we had been guests at a Japanese couple where our hostess had been folding figures while she was talking. The star on the photo is called the Paolo Bascetta star, my challenge for the weekends before Christmas. Until now I only managed to do some Froebel stars...
If anybody wants to have a try :http://klimsmurf.de/gefaltet/modulares/stern/
Other plants that show a nice green coluor is a fern called Phyllitis scolopendrium, which seems to grow quite well under the Hydrangea arborea. I think I shall get the "Crispa" form next year, this type of fern seems to grow quite well in that part of my garden.
Another plant is the herb on the photo above the fern, Rumex scutatus ' Silver Shield'. You can use it in salads , it contains a lot of vitamin C and tastes not as sour as the normal Rumex, the above form looks quite attractive with its silvery leaves. At the moment it looks even better than in summer when it blooms.
But we manageded to cover sensitive plants which are not really made for our region like Vitex agnus castus und Parthenocissus henryana.
This weekend I tried Henny´s recipe of a Styria, Austria: a pumkinseedoil-cake. I agree with Henny the bubbly greenish looking dough doesn´t look very inviting, but when it´s baked it looks alright and the taste is really extraordinary .
The bottle left shows the oil which was used for the cake, which made the dough really tasty and fluffy as well.
When I came back from nordic walking this afternoon I had to realize half of the cake had already gone, my son and his father had a good afternoon....
Here a found an interesting website in English language about this healthy and tasty oil:
